    Today’s Hatin’: Death by Perfume

Even though I am as of now officially on holiday (yaaay!), now that I have more free time in my hands, apparently my brain has decided that thinking of things that annoy me was a good use of this time. So in a matter of moments I dashed off this hatey post, which got ahead of others in the queue. I have to say that as far as perfumes and fragrances go, there are more of these that I like than not. Those that I did NOT like, however, have left a lasting impression in me.  Right now there are three that come to mind: “Sunflowers” by Elizabeth Arden, Liz…

    🌻Love You, Love You Not… La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo + & Anthelios SPF 50+

One of these products I like very much, the other… not. In fact, I can’t bring myself to apply the latter now, so I stopped using it, or rather, I don’t use it on my face, which is what is made for. The product in question is La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF 50+ invisible face mist. I bought this one at the end of summer, when days were still long, so when it was time for me to go home the sun was still shining bright. Desperately seeking protection: La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF 50+ invisible face mist Those of you who have stopped by my blog before will likely be aware…

Scents of this summer: CK IN2U For Her & Verveine by L’Occitane

I am what could be termed a perfume serial monogamist: when I open one, I wear it without alternating with any other until is all used up, and then and only then I’ll start a new one, which is never the same one, and rarely it is one I’ve used in the past. Nevertheless, this summer I broke with that long habit forced by circumstance: in late spring I started using “IN2U for her” by Calvin Klein, and not long after that I decided to switch to “Verveine” by L’Occitane. CK IN2U For Her I got this months ago for my birthday, and when I opened my gift I thought…

    Review: Weleda Everon Lip Balm

This year I imposed myself the rule of using only one lipbalm at a time, rather than buying and keeping one in my handbag, one in the bathroom, one in my bedside table, as I used to do… nevertheless, Weleda’s Everon Lip Balm almost made me break my rule and go get another one ASAP, without using it up first. I haven’t done it because I want to finish this product, and recycle the container so that at least a part the sacrifice isn’t made in vain, and I know that if I buy another lipbalm, this one will simply be pushed aside and forgotten, serving no earthly purpose to…

    Benecos Natural Mascara Maximum Volume

All in all, I’ve liked the few things I’ve tried from this brand, except for this Benecos Natural Mascara Maximum Volume. This has been one of my latest disappointments, mainly because it stings my eyes, something I have NEVER experienced with any other mascara, or with any eyeliner or shadow at all. But first things first. Benecos is a German brand whose leitmotiv is environmentally-friendly ingredients, and a “natural” concept in cosmetics at affordable prices. It isn’t very well known in my area beyond the beauty blogosphere, or at least it seems that way to me; in any case, I haven’t seen it anywhere other than in the organic supermarket…
